I watched a debate between Adnan Rashid and Hamza Tzortzis against two Christians. It's funny that Christians, for the most part, are in favour of a secular society, but these opportunistic Islamists are getting increasingly vocal in their opposition to it.

In any case, even if the Islamists did well and brought considerable attention to their cause, they would soon thereafter become victims of their own success.

Political Islam, particularly the kind of Islam that is favoured by these types, is not exactly congenial to the liberal notions of freedom of conscience and expression that are inextricable, for the most part, from Western civilisation. Although granted, they're not always adhered to with 100% consistency.

I wish secularists knew more about Islam so as to give a better comparison between the two systems. In any case, I hope those on the side of secularism don't let the side down.
