    Hello Everyone,

I have been reading for a while, and, whilst I don’t have too much to add, I thought it only right that I introduce myself so you know who at least one of your lurkers is.

I am a student studying the Islamic World and academically my interest is focused on Islamism and radicalisation. It is absolutely fascinating and great, very great, to read the posts about how and why people have begun to doubt and then reject religion.

Part of the reason that this particular subject interests me is because I am an atheist, as are both my parents and my grandparents on both sides of my family were agnostic, of both Jewish and Christian heritage. As such I grew up 'godless' and I have always struggled to grasp the concepts of god and religion. How religion developed and the influence it has over how people live their lives and their interaction (socially, politically, violently, compassionately, nationally, historically, in-group/out-group and so on) with others fascinates me.

I wish everybody the best and I hope that they find whatever it is that they are after, be it in Dawkins, in their soul, at the bottom of a bottle or in the fridge over Ramadan.

    See you around,

    T

It's always good to know who the lurkers are, Smiley and it's good to know that someone is out there using the raw data we write here (our experiences etc) to compile meaningful strategies on how to tackle the problem of Islam all religion.

Haha, I was thinking the same thing! I wonder who else might be using such forums to gather tacit data ...
