Virginia Man tries to bomb DC Subway

WASHINGTON – A Virginia man was arrested Wednesday and charged with trying to help people he believed were al-Qaida operatives planning to bomb subway stations around the nation's capital, the FBI said.

The FBI said the public was never in danger because its agents were aware of the man's activities before the alleged planning took place and monitored him throughout.

Farooque Ahmed, 34, a naturalized citizen born in Pakistan, had been indicted under seal Tuesday in Alexandria, Va., and the indictment was released Wednesday. He was charged with attempting to provide material support to a designated terrorist organization, collecting information to assist in planning a terrorist attack on a transit facility, and attempting to provide material support to carry out multiple bombings to cause mass casualties at Washington-area metro stations. Ahmed lives in Ashburn, Va., outside Washington.

Nah, I dont believe in capital punishment. In any case its too lenient. I would prefer to subject him to gay porn & Hebrew relgious chanting for days on end.

Well, I am against death penalty no matter what. The reason is, there is always a chance that law enforcement might kill an innocent person based on false or incorrect evidence.

Perhaps, but this idiot will rot in jail. Who do you think will the take the flame for him? The regular Muslims who had nothing to do with him. If this nonsense keeps up, then pretty soon it will be the "cool" thing to do is beat up Muslims wherever you see one. So if that a-hole wants to make a political statement of fighting the non muslims for the actions of Western countries bombing Muslim countries using murder, then I say, he himself should deserve the same consequences.

In life there are other ways to make political statement without lifting one finger in violence. Obviously these idiots never got the message or don't seem to care one bit, so its time to give them a taste of their own medicine.

I dont think so, not publically anyway. These folk are filled with the jeepers creepers & paranoid about the MI5 & CIA.

Also I believe liberal Muslims are today far more vocal than in the past after worldwide criticism, & have made headway into quashing & outing these radicals amongst their communities.

Things are changing, but there's too much to do & its too late. Their daughter will be raised alone by her mother, because her dads too busy getting bummed by his Nazi inmates.
