  • The weird things allah does
     OP - December 15, 2011, 08:34 AM

Ok, I just thought about this, and how it makes no sense.....

Angels dont have free will: ok

When Allah is creating Adam, there is a question and answer session between the angels and allah:
    Quote
When your Lord said to the angels, 'I am putting an overlord on the earth,' they said, 'Why put on it one who will cause corruption on it and shed blood when we glorify You with praise and proclaim Your purity?' He said, 'I know what you do not know.'

In order to ask allah the question, either angels have free will (the angels used their free will to decide to ask said question), or Allah willed them to ask him a question that he made up for them to ask him....which makes no sense at all....and then he doesnt even answer them. There is no discernible motive for allah to do this outside the truely goofy
Just think on it for a moment....

He's jinn, but for some reason gets to be an honorary angel for a while or something......and that story is a whole new ball of huh.

Yep, and it works for the Christian and Jewish versions too.

BTW, that was what prompted my thoughts about Satan. In the bible he's an angel, along with all his mates, but they defo have free will. They couldn't rebel otherwise.

The interesting thing (or I guess you could say the least interesting thing) about angels is how redundant they are.

If allah is all knowing, all powerful, omnipresent, ect...angels have no actual function. With free will at least the possibility exists for them to be interesting, without it they would simply be robotic tools for a being that has no practical use whatsoever for tools. Like the equivalent of allah making himself an airplane so he could fly somewhere in it.
One could say that they exist to praise allah, which they do, but that is also weird. If they have no free will, any praise is completely hollow. It would literally be allah praising himself. Like if I recorded "Homer is awesome" in a tape recorder, played it back to myself, and considered it praise from the tape recorder.

The foundation of superstition is ignorance, the
superstructure is faith and the dome is a vain hope. Superstition
is the child of ignorance and the mother of misery.

    Allah sounds... sad.

There there, Allah. You'll find the right one, someday.

(Yeah, I'm drunk. So's Allah, I think. How the fuck else would you explain this fuck-up of a world?)
