URGENT: Need help with a Quranic verse (The Missing Yaa)

I think I may have discovered a flaw in one of the verses in Surah Al-Kafiroon.

So I was learning some Arabic the other day, and I decided to try to translate the famous line: Lakum Deenukum Wa Liya Deen.

All this time, i thought the proper translation was "For you your religion, and for me my religion."

But the actual literal translation is: "For you your religion, and for me religion"

I may have mistaken, but I think the second part of the verse is missing the possessive noun "Yaa". So instead of just "Deen" or "Religion", it should have been "Deenee" or "My Religion", with the Yaa added at the end.

If this is true, then it proves that the Quran isn't actually perfect. Can anyone who knows more about Quranic Arabic give some thoughts on this?

As with anything dealing with the linguistic properties of the Quran, you have to tread carefully. Many of the linguistic nuances of the Arabic language is derived or influenced by the Quran.

Therefore, if you see a “mistake” in the Quran, it is easily brushed off as a rethorical device used by the speaker.

Now with that said. Liya deen is perfectly acceptable here.

It is the equivalent of saying “You have your cars, and I have a car”
