  • Anyone here lives in Cambridge?
     OP - January 13, 2012, 09:35 PM

Will be relocating to Cambridge pretty soon, so I'm just wondering if anyone here knows a decent gym about in that area? Anything within a 20 miles radius ideally.

    Cheers.

I go there nearly every fortnight and I'm a member of LA Fitness.  They've got a very good branch there, worth the money.  I actually like it more than my local one here in London.

Thanks, mate. Just wondering though.... what's the heaviest dumbbell there? Is it good for free weight training? Does it have enough benches, weight plates, barbells (different kinds), etc? And how much is it for a single membership?

I don't know what the heaviest is but the place is well-equipped for free weights.  As far as membership goes, it's different for each club and I have a nationwide one for the franchise, so you're better off calling them.  Though having looked through the site they're offering a 3-day trial.

You could try the Leys school as well (if you walk around the back of the sports centre you can see the weight room from outside) no idea what the other gyms are like as it's not my bag.

    Cool, thanks, will try that.
