Yes, I watched the whole thing - it was posted here a while ago. I enjoyed it and it gave me hope for Indian Muslims, particularly now that it seems the upper & middle class circles of Muslims over their embrace secularlism and handle the zakir naiks amidst with suspicion.

He looks out of place in the documentary as some relic of the past, and it looks as though he feels it - he's uncharacteristically quiet amongst the thinkers on stage.

cant remember, its worth watching though just to see Naik be outnumbered & squirm for once

Muslims in India have to be progressive in the long term in order to prosper in predominantly non Muslim India.

It is true for everywhere. Its true for the UK as well. In the long term, those Muslims who are progressive and liberal will prosper, and those who are too insular will not. And I don't just mean materially, I mean emotionally too.

Anyway, is Zakir Naik from the Deoband school? Its kind of ironic how one of the most reactionary schools of Islam ended up in predominantly Hindu India after partition! Maududi and the rest of those Jamaati Islami clowns drew from the well of Deoband.

I watched it. I liked that mullah guy who denounced terrorism in a big way, and at one point naik got his ass handed to him big time by the host when she asked him about why he doesn't denounce osama bin laden.

Anyways people often interchange Planet and world in their usage. Some times I do that., But The word "world" means many things ., It is like Quranic verse, You can take any meaning out of many Quranic statements.

Anyways, When we say "my world.," It could mean your own room, your house, your town, your country, your continent, your planet and it could even mean your solar system and your galaxy and on and on., but the word "Planet" it is a specific word ., For e.g. Earth is a Planet., Mars is planet.. Moon is NOT planet.. Sun is NOT planet but sun is star.. In a simplest words it can be defined a "a celestial body moving in an elliptical orbit around a star."

Any way I think CEMB needs a folder on that great man Carl Sagan ., the forum has one for Richard Dawkins and his great works So why not for Carl Sagan?/
