So this is a question that muslims and ex-muslims can answer alike. I'm reading the Quran right now and I'm interested in reading some of the Hadiths. I recently found out the Hadiths are not just one book but volumes of them -_- my question is should I get a summarized thing like this http://www.amazon.com/Translation-Meanings-Summarized-Sahih-Al-Bukhari/dp/1567445195/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_S_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=24V8R5FCATGUU&coliid=I1FWP2CS3NO3ME

    Or volumes like these: http://www.amazon.com/The-Translation-Meanings-Sahih-Al-Bukhari/dp/8171510132/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=24V8R5FCATGUU&coliid=I3I90CB2URRLFH

    http://www.amazon.com/Sahih-Muslim-7-Vol-Set/dp/9960991903/ref=wl_it_dp_o_pC_nS_nC?ie=UTF8&colid=24V8R5FCATGUU&coliid=I1YN9HZ3N23CX8

I do need English translations because I don't speak Arabic. Recommendations welcome haha

Yes I have read scriptures, the Bible. I was raised pretty hardcore Christian haha. Whats happening is since I've become and atheist I'm interested in learning about other belief systems just to learn about what they believe (I was an anthropology major before I was a physics major cultural stuff interests me) Islam is at the top of the list right now primarily because I already have a Quran (bought it to play a practical joke on my Christian family a story I may tell sometime). Anyways I intend to buy other books like the Bhagavad Gita and Rigveda from Hinduism and the Avesta from Zoroastrianism. I figure its always a good thing to learn new things whenever you can and intellectually stimulating to read things that you do not agree with because you must think about why you don't agree with it. So thats the reason. I also figure its a good thing to have a knowledge about different religions as an atheist in case you have a discussion with a theist. I decided to buy the summarized thing though instead of the volumes, its cheaper for one and I'm also not exactly trying to be an Imam here haha (nor would I want to be lol)
