    Read the first verse:

    They ask you, [O Muhammad], about the bounties [of war]. Say, "The [decision concerning] bounties is for Allah and the Messenger." So fear Allah and amend that which is between you and obey Allah and His Messenger, if you should be believers.

    How can God has a share on the booty? The phrases in bracket were obviously inserted by the translator to sugarcoat the verse. It does not exist in the original Arabic.

    Muhammad attempted to control his followers by applying this cult-like tactic.

    This is one the Sura that I had always problem with, even up until these days.
