What does religion mean to you? What principles do you want to live your life by? Do you judge your friends by what they believe?

Grace, a professor of Natural Science who has no God in her life and is fiercely intolerant of those who do, is confronted by her barrister son Tom, who abandons the law to pursue his faith.

"...what I think is that your ignominious toying with faith has always been an extremely irritating adolescent reaction to this family...you are too old for this type of teenage revenge."

At heart, On Religion is a family drama that looks at how much, if at all, we are willing to compromise our own deeply felt beliefs for those we love and hold most dear.

"God cannot be the creator of everything and something on the list of things being created."

Informed by conversations with leading philosophers, theologians and scientists including Professor Richard Dawkins, Rev Dr Giles Fraser, Professor John Gray, Baroness Julia Neuberger, Archbishop Rowan Williams and Tariq Ramadan, this play explores faith and religion through a human, moving and theatrically cinematic story.
