I don't know how prevalent this is but in my part of my home country, Muslims give their children Arabic names. This has never bothered be UNTIL I personally and quietly quit Islam. Now the second I introduce myself to someone who's even vaguely familiar with Arabic culture, they ask me if I'm Muslim.

I'd just make this noise of disapproval. Then they go: "No problem, I'm Muslim too." ............

I don't even say I'm Muslim, but now that they've confirmed that they are and assume I am, It's too late to go: 'No, no I'm not.' and leave them wondering how this black man got this Arabic name and logically come to the conclusion that I'm obviously brainwashed and have left Islam and chosen to lick the balls of the devil. Obviously.

This is becoming a micro aggression but also a bit funny. Does this happen to any of you as well?

do you get the "but if your not muslim any more why don'y you change your name?"

I get racially profiled as being muslim all the time by muslims.

Noo, I usually don't tell them I'm not :(

I did once though and this guy went all: "Well I am a muslim, a PRACTISING MUSLIM"..Like bro chilll, idgaf, That's the point.

Most Muslims find it amusing that I have a Jewish first name.
