    Crazy drug this is. Could explain all sorts of mysteries and supposed "paranormal" phenomenon and is probably at the source of a lot of religious experience. And the craziest thing is that its naturally produced by almost every living beings body.

    The descriptions of the trips sound so much like the accounts of near death experiences. Perhaps dmt is released when the body is under severe trauma?

    Seems like some of the researchers seem to think it can actually take you into another dimension. I say unless they're bringing back extraordinary information that can be verified to be true without them acquiring it through natural means, it will remain just a hallucinatory trip (albeit a profound one).

    Agreed. I used to be interested in astral projection and lucid dreaming but was never really able to do it  Tongue Sam Harris also talks about spirituality as an atheist.
