Surely it's the student groups , with their intolerance of any dissenting opinion , who are guilty of McCarthyism ?

I would have ignored Deepa Kumar. She's flogging her new book on Islamophobia and probably very well knew this controversy would cause a bit of a shit storm and let people know that she exists and then a good portion of her new fans would buy her book.
