Four US marines killed in attack on military facilities says news..  From DAWN

    Quote
CHATTANOOGA: A gunman unleashed a barrage of gunfire at two military facilities Thursday in Tennessee, killing at least four Marines, officials said.

The suspect also was killed. A US official, speaking on condition of anonymity to discuss an ongoing investigation, told The Associated Press the death toll included the four US Marines and the sole gunman believed responsible.

Two others, a soldier and a police officer, were wounded, the official said. “Lives have been lost from some faithful people who have been serving our country, and I think I join all Tennesseans in being both sickened and saddened by this,” Governor Bill Haslam said.

The U.S. Navy said in a tweet that there was a shooting at a Navy recruiting building in Chattanooga.  Sgt. 1st Class Robert Dodge, an Army recruiter in Chattanooga says he was at his office when someone opened fire and he heard 30 to 50 shots. A facility 11 kilometers away also was attacked.

Brian Lepley, a spokesman with the US Army Recruiting Command in Fort Knox, Kentucky, said his recruiters there were told by law enforcement that the shooter, who was in a car, stopped in front of the facility, shot at the building and drove off.

The Army recruiters at the facility told Lepley they were not hurt and had evacuated; Lepley said he had no information about recruiters for the other military branches at the facility.

US President Barack Obama has been briefed by his national security team on the shooting involving two military sites in Tennessee. White House spokesman Eric Schultz said the president will continue getting updates from his staff as needed.

Marilyn Hutcheson, who works at Binswanger Glass just across the street, said she heard a barrage of gunfire around 11 a.m.

“I couldn't even begin to tell you how many,” she said.

“It was rapid fire. The next thing I knew, there were police cars coming from every direction.”

She ran inside, where she remained locked down with other employees and a customer. The gunfire continued with occasional bursts she estimated for 20 minutes.

well that is the news ..No details in it... but i read often in the news  ... AMRIKA and its LOVEEEE for guns..

'No terror link' in US shooting  says BBC news

Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez was arrested in April for driving under the influence of alcohol

    Quote
US federal investigators say a gunman who killed four marines in a shooting spree in Tennessee had no known links to international terrorism.  Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez, 24, was shot dead by police after he attacked a military recruitment centre and a naval reserve centre in Chattanooga.

Local prosecutors are investigating the attacks - in which three people were also injured - as "domestic terrorism".  However, the FBI says Abdulazeez's motive is unclear.  A police officer and a marine corps recruiter were wounded, along with a female sailor who remains in a serious condition in hospital.

President Barack Obama said the attacks were "heartbreaking".

So he was the shooter....   well whatever  but  it is  good to know  that  Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez   had no known links to   terrorism in AMRIKA.

Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, the 24-year-old gunman who today killed four U.S. Marines during a shooting spree in Tennessee, is pictured above in photos taken following his 2012 graduation from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga.

The images were uploaded to the Facebook page of Abdulazeez’s mother Rasmia.

Another photo from Rasmia’s page (seen below) shows her and her husband seated next to each other with their son standing in the background.

Abdulazeez was shot to death today, though investigators have not revealed whether he was gunned down by law enforcement personnel or whether he took his own life after the attacks on a pair of military facilities in Chattanooga.

A federal prosecutor called the shootings “an act of domestic terrorism."

Photo from Rasmia’s page   shows her and her husband seated next to each other with their son standing in the background.

    Quote
As seen below, in his high school yearbook, Abdulazeez included a quote attributed to Javed “Hijabman” Memon, a blogger who says that he started a web site to chronicle The quote--“My name causes national security alerts. What does yours do?”--has also appeared on t-shirts sold by “Hijabman.”“my struggles as a first generation American Muslim of South Asian descent.”

Chattanooga (United States) (AFP) - A 24-year-old Kuwaiti-born man who gunned down four Marines in a deadly rampage in Tennessee was "an all-American kid" from an "average" family, shocked friends and acquaintances said.

Mohammod Youssuf Abdulazeez, who allegedly opened fire at two US military facilities in Chattanooga before being killed in a shootout with police, apparently wrote in a blog post this week that life is "short and bitter."

But hours after his killing spree on Thursday, authorities were still piecing together a portrait of the former high school wrestler with a degree in engineering to explain why he may have turned into a cold-blooded killer.

The FBI raided Abdulazeez's home in a leafy Chattanooga suburb and vowed to use every means possible to "determine the cause or the reason why he carried out this attack."

Abdulazeez -- a naturalized US citizen from Kuwait, according to multiple reports citing US officials -- appears to have maintained a blog, according to the SITE Intelligence Group, which monitors extremist activity on social media.

In a post written Monday, he said that "this life is short and bitter" and that Muslims should not let "the opportunity to submit to allah... pass you by."

The blog also makes fleeting references to sacrifice and jihad, but a short excerpt released by SITE did not contain any overt evidence of radicalization or threats. A woman who attended Red Bank High School with Abdulazeez said he was a quiet, well-liked student.

"He was friendly, funny, kind," Kagan Wagner told the Chattanooga Times Free Press. "I never would have thought it would be him."

She added that his whole family seemed normal.

"They were your average Chattanooga family," Wagner said.

A high school yearbook quote which appears to have been written by Abdulazeez, cited by local media, reads: "My name causes national security alerts. What does yours do?"

He was on the wrestling team in high school, and the Chattanooga Times Free Press said a video posted on YouTube of a 2009 ultimate fighting competition does indeed show Abdulazeez.

"I mean, he seemed like the all-American kid," Abdulazeez's mixed martial arts coach Scott Schrader told CNN, adding that he was "never loud, never boisterous, never got out of line."

Abdulazeez has been in trouble with the law recently. Local media published a mug shot of him after he was arrested for driving while under the influence in April.

He graduated from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga in 2012 with a degree in engineering. His father, who shares his name, works for the city's public works department where he was appointed as a "special policeman."

A Facebook page which appeared to belong to his mother -- and which AFP could not independently verify -- showed a cheerful photo of Abdulazeez smiling at his graduation as he hugs an elderly woman while draped in flowers and a Palestinian keffiyeh.

Another photo apparently shows him posing with his diploma in front of the US and Tennessee flags, while a third shows a cake with the words "Congratulations Mohammod Class of 2012."

His mother is from Kuwait and his father is from the West Bank, according to the Facebook page.

.. Father works US of A ..mother works US of A apparently the nut case also is an engineer from US of A.. whole family appears to be well educated.,   well if that is the case and that is the result of a fellow born in US of A what do I expect from a fellow born in the borders of Afghan/Pak?

Hmm I wonder if some kind of mental illness played a part. We had a 'terrorist' seige in Sydney resulting in two deaths but it seems mental illness played a significant role in that.

Whenever you have an individual hurting another individual who is unknown to him, you can safely say mental illness is a part of it.

    Quote
If evidence reveals that Thursday's shooting rampage in Chattanooga, Tennessee, was an act of ISIS-inspired terrorism, CBS News senior security contributor Michael Morell would not be surprised.

"This is the wave of the future," he said Thursday on "CBS This Morning."

Federal authorities are looking into the possibility that 24-year-old, Kuwait-born Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez was inspired by the terror group to kill four Marines. If that is the case, Morell said it would be "the most significant ISIS-inspired attack" on U.S. soil to date.

"I think that's where we're going to end up here," Morell said.

At roughly 10:45 am local time, Abdulaeez had the armed services recruiting center under siege.

He pulled into the strip mall in a silver Mustang, fired shots into the facility and then drove off, reports CBS News correspondent Dean Reynolds.

"He didn't get out the car he didn't do nothing like that. He shot ten times and then backed up," witness Keegan Green said. "Then as soon as he backed up, he put ten more in the building."

A pursuit ensued, as Abdulazeez drove 7 miles to a Naval and Marine reserve center, where he launched a second attack and shot four Marines.

He allegedly plowed through an unmanned barricade, driving close to 100 yards onto the base where he gunned down his victims, before being shot by local law enforcement.

The attack comes in the final days of the holy month of Ramadan, a month in which ISIS followers were urged by the terror group to make "calamities for the nonbelievers."

Authorities continue to comb for information to determine what motivated Abdulazeez and remain on high alert for ISIS-inspired lone-wolf attackers.

"There have been about 50 to 60 arrests of individuals who are in some way inspired by ISIS in the United States since ISIS became a phenomenon, and those arrests cut across 20 different states," Morell said.

In May, authorities shot and killed two gunmen who attacked an anti-Islamic event in Garland, Texas. Another self-radicalized man who attacked four rookie officers with a hatchet in New York City was shot and killed by police in October.

Abdulazeez was not on any U.S. terror list and the FBI said they have not found any connections to ISIS or Muslim extremists, but the continued threat of lone-wolf attacks remains a concern for law enforcement.

"You can have a young man who may not be in any contact with a foreign terrorist organization... but who is in his own home, in his bedroom, in his basement, watching videos, going to websites, who is completely self-radicalized without any contact with foreigners or with anybody in the United States," Morell said.

The news  videos at that new links are really disturbing.... with such incidents I am sure Americans are going to Profile everyone and every thing..

    http://www.cbsnews.com/news/claims-of-domestic-violence-in-home-of-suspected-chattanooga-gunman/

    Quote
CHATTANOOGA, Tenn. -- Court documents obtained by CBS News reveal claims of domestic violence in the family home of Muhammad Youssef Abdulazeez, the man identified as the gunman in the deadly Chattanooga attacks.

Four Marines were killed and another was wounded, along with a police officer. Abdulazeez was also killed.

    Quote
Abdulazeez's mother filed for divorce from her husband of 28 years claiming he was abusive, according to court documents dated February 2009. Ultimately, the couple did not get divorced, but the document did reveal what life may have been like inside the home.

In the complaint, the suspect's mother, Rasmia Ibrahim Abdulazeez, said there are five children in the family and her husband, Youssuf Saed Abdulazeez, had repeatedly beaten her, at times in front of them. Rasmia said on one occasion, she was beaten so severely she fled their home and went to a crisis center. She requested a restraining order and custody of the youngest child.

In the documents, Rasmia also claimed she was sexually assaulted by her husband while the children were in the home. The documents allege that, on occasion, Youssuf had also been abusive towards the children, striking and berating them without provocation or justification.

Federal law enforcement officials say Abdulazeez was born in Kuwait and became a naturalized U.S. citizen. His father is from Nablus in the West Bank and his mother is from Kuwait. Residents in the quiet neighborhood where he is believed to have lived in Tennessee said they didn't know him or his family well.

According to the court documents, family members from Washington D.C. and Kuwait flew to Tennessee to help the Abdulazeez's parents resolve their differences, but Rasmia claimed Youssuf had become "more abusive" after that.

Rasmia reported she did not work and Youssuf had control of the money. She was only able to save a few dollars every week from the money her husband had given her for household expenses. She had wanted an Islamic divorce known as a "talaq" in addition to a court divorce.

Three weeks later though, the couple signed an agreement where Youssuf agreed to refrain from any personal injury against Rasmia or the kids. They also agreed to go to counseling, and if they got divorced in the future, the Youssuf agreed to give her an Islamic divorce as well..

So   new news comes on that  Chattanooga shooter   Mr.  Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez  the news at www.independent.co.uk says  with this heading

Chattanooga shooting: Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez told Muslims to 'submit to Allah' and 'establish Islam in world' days before rampage
    Quote
Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez, 24, opened fire at two military sites in Tennessee on Thursday in a rampage that lasted 30 minutes before he was shot dead by police. After initial reports that the shooting might have been inspired by, the FBI s said investigators had found nothing that linked the shooter to an international terrorist group.

The gunman who killed four US Marines in what is being investigated as a possible incident of domestic terrorism wrote a blog urging Muslims to “establish Islam in the world” days before his attack, it has emerged.  A blog being attributed to Abdulazeez appeared online days before the shooting, with two posts put up on Monday.

The first, called “A Prison Called Dunya” - meaning the earthly as opposed to spiritual world – used the metaphor of a jail to illustrate the need for Muslims to study their faith in life to be rewarded in death.

Quoting a Koran passage calling existence “but amusement and diversion” and asking “what is the worldly life except the enjoyment of delusion?”, the blog goes on to quote a hadith calling the world “a prison for the believer and a paradise for the unbeliever”.

“This life we are living is nothing more than a test of our faith and patience,” the author believed to be Abdulazeez wrote.

“It was designed to separate the inhabitants of Paradise from the inhabitants of Hellfire, and to rank amongst them the best of the best and worst of the worst.

“Don't let the society we live in deviate you from the task at hand.”

The blog urged Muslims not to be “fooled by (their) desires”, adding: “This life is short and bitter and the opportunity to submit to Allah may pass you by.

“Take his word as your light and code and do not let other prisoners, whether they are so called ‘Scholars’ or even your family members, divert you from the truth.”

The line appeared to be a reference to Islamic clerics who speak out against jihad and relatives who may have attempted to stop Abdulazeez or other extremists from being radicalised.

The second post on the blog professed to be on “understanding Islam” and used the popular parable of the blind men and an elephant, who cannot understand what the creature is from their limited experience and argue about it, to illustrate differing views of Islam.

“We have a certain understanding of Islam and keep a tunnel vision of what we think Islam is,” Abdulazeez  wrote. “What we know is Islam and everything else is not.”

He claimed that Mohamed's disciples waged jihad and are an example to be followed.

“We ask Allah to make us follow their path,” he wrote.

“To give us a complete understanding of the message of Islam, and the strength the live by this knowledge, and to know what role we need to play to establish Islam in the world.”

The author of the blog, titled M.Y. Abdulazeez, could not be verified.

Abdulazeez, an engineering graduate who attended the University of Tennessee, was believed to be a naturalised American who was born in Kuwait. ...

Well there is more at that news link.. but that is good enough  to understand  how a well educated Engineer  kills himself and kills others who have done no harm to him or to his immediate family members  for the sake of his faith . There is little doubt that Islam and Islamic brain wash from its scriptures generate fatalistic mindset in young men. The present time we are living is not  the times of swords but time of Machine guns that can fire 100s of rounds per minute  and can kill 100s of innocents in a minute .. WORSE IS THEY ARE LEGAL TO ACQUIRE IN SOME COUNTRIES.

Some 100 years ago A man   called Winston Churchill, wrote a book "The River War" concerning his experiences as a British Army officer, during the Mahdist War (1881–99) in the Sudan.  The book essentially tells  history of the British imperial involvement in the Sudan, and the Mahdi War between the British forces, led by Mr. Kitchener, and the Dervish forces, led by Khalifa Abdallahi ibn Muhammad, "The Mahdi”, heir to the self-proclaimed Mahdi Muhammad Ahmad who had embarked on a campaign to conquer Egypt, to drive out the non-Muslim infidels.

He says in it about Islam
    Quote

“   ..............How dreadful are the curses which Mohammedanism lays on its votaries! Besides the fanatical frenzy, which is as dangerous in a man as hydrophobia in a dog, there is this fearful fatalistic apathy. The effects are apparent in many countries. Improvident habits, slovenly systems of agriculture, sluggish methods of commerce, and insecurity of property exist wherever the followers of the Prophet rule or live. A degraded sensualism deprives this life of its grace and refinement; the next of its dignity and sanctity.

The fact that in Mohammedan law every woman must belong to some man as his absolute property – either as a child, a wife, or a concubine – must delay the final extinction of slavery until the faith of Islam has ceased to be a great power among men.
    Quote
Individual Moslems may show splendid qualities. Thousands become the brave and loyal soldiers of the Queen: all know how to die: but the influence of the religion paralyses the social development of those who follow it. No stronger retrograde force exists in the world. Far from being moribund, Mohammedanism is a militant and proselytizing faith.

It has already spread throughout Central Africa, raising fearless warriors at every step; and were it not that Christianity is sheltered in the strong arms of science, the science against which it had vainly struggled, the civilisation of modern Europe might fall, as fell the civilisation of ancient Rome[/i]..............,

Well it is hard to say  that Mr. Winston Churchill is wrong  when I see the life  and  story of  24 year old  Mohammad Youssuf Abdulazeez  who is well educated in a very affluent country  that too an Engineer  but with religious mindset .. all that education that could have helped millions of uneducated Muslim folks  goes out of the window in these faith heads

    Ha!  what a  words...
    Quote
“We ask Allah to make us follow their path,” he wrote.

“To give us a complete understanding of the message of Islam, and the strength the live by this knowledge, and to know what role we need to play to establish Islam in the world.”

Sure that 24 year old  fool did not read Quran  in its entirety . I argue all educated Muslims,  all  college graduates DO NOT LISTEN TO THE FOOLS THAT PREACH IN MOSQUES   but    to Read Quran .. all 114 chapters ..

It doesn't take much time to read that book ..  It is a small book in comparison  to your college text books. I am sure you will understand it better than what these IDIOTS OF ISLAM preach from mosques or from those dawa centers on web,....
