Trump has made it clear he isn't that keen on NATO and is making friendly noises towards Russia. I wouldn't be that sure of Trump's US coming to Turkey's aid if Russia attacked them.
Which reduces the chances of starting a major global conflict. It will only expose Turkey to a possible short regional war which it will lose or force their hand to a diplomatic route as support from major powers is gone. Without Nato Turkey does not stand a chance.
I still fail to see how this can turn into a Ferdinand scenario based solely on a treaty which the current President-Elect has already ranted about. Keep in mind no treaty is binding within a democracy beyond a single term in office.
