He'd never heard before that the penalty for apostasy is death? OK. I spose there are muslims who don't know that - but what of his apologia? Allah will punish you for it, not muslims, so therefore Islam is peaceful.

As a Muslim, I had never heard that either. Muslims dont focus on the bad bits like we do, and tend to make the good bits up too - like the sleeping cat & garbage throwing stories!

I believe you, I also believe the guy in that clip when he says he never heard it before. I was just struck by the irony of thinking that Islam is vindicated by saying that the punishment is hellfire for all eternity, rather than murder here on earth. You hear the same thing off the evangelicals - Jesus saves, but if you don't do as you're told he'll torture you forever and ever.

Steps to Tolerance for Christianity & Islam :

Step1) Those who don't believe go to Hell, & if you stop believing, we'll send you to Hell NOW!!!

Step 2) Those who don't believe go to Hell, but we'll not send you there immediately, we'll only threaten you for now or alternately tell you how much Allah or God loves you & wants you saved!

Step 3) We'll not send you to Hell immediately, & you may go to Heaven even as a non believer or pagan!:-*

Islam's mostly in Stage 1 but has quite a few individuals move to Stage 2, Evengelicals are in Stage 2 & Unitarian Universalists & Catholics in Stage 3.
