Breaking free from religion is more often than not breaking free of abuse, and no one can or should have to face that alone.
Many of you maybe be trapped, believing that you have no where to go, or that you must live your life continueing to lie and be untrue to yourself.
You do not have to do that, in this thread are a list of organisations that can help you escape and get safe. If there is nothing in this list that you feel can help your unique situation, please do pm me and I will endeavour to find another way.
Womens Aid
http://www.womensaid.org.uk/ Is dedicated to helping abused women escape from violent marriages, even from mentally abusive ones. Taking a big step like this can at times be daunting, and naturally you may be afraid to take a step into such an unknown world.
My advice is don't be afraid, I have worked with women's aid before as they helped me, and they are good at their job. They can help women with money, a place to live and any court proceedings they will face, they work in the home, and once you are resettled.
Remember, nobody has a right to abuse you, not in the name of any religion or the name of any family honour.
Refuge
http://www.refuge.org.uk/Run in conjunction with womens aid are also a good caling point, they are able to find you a refuge if you need one and get you out of danger fast and effectively. They understand the dangers facing women.
Southall Black Sisters

Our aims are to highlight and challenge violence against women; empower them to gain more control over their lives; live without fear of violence; and assert their human rights to justice, equality and freedom. For more than two decades we have been at the forefront of challenging domestic and gender violence locally and nationally, and campaigning for the provision of support services to enable women and their children to escape violent relationships.
We manage a resource centre in West London that provides a comprehensive service to women experiencing violence and abuse. We offer specialist advice, information, casework, advocacy, counselling and self-help support services in several community languages. We are managed by a group of women with long experience of women's struggles and commitment to women's rights.
