    @ Zaephon

    Hello Zaephon

As you may know the Prime Minister of Denmark, Anders Fogh Rasmussen, is a candidate for the above post and he is being backed by Germany, France, Britain and the U.S.

The only stumpling block is Turkey. Yesterday Abdullah G?l spoke favourably of Fogh Rasmussen, but to-day Tayib Erdogan expressed hesitation, pointing to the cartoon affair and Roj TV sending from Denmark, saying that he had to consider the feelings of his people.

Is Fogh Rasmussen?s candicacy covered extensively in Turkish media and is it talked about in the Turkish street ?

I would appreciate it if you could tell me a little about this.

    Thank you in advance.

    Paloma,

I know nothing about this, actually. I do not watch TV at all and I haven't read any newspapers recently, so I cannot verify if there has been any news item about this topic. However, I can verify that there has been no extensive media coverage. We have local elections tomorrow, and I don't think the people on the streets are concerned with the topic at all.

One thing, though. Tayyip Erdogan and his fellow terrorists are very fond of "considering the feelings of our people." They are using this argument to blackmail Western politicians and the secular/left-wing opposition. I am sick of hearing how I am supposed to be silent so as not to "disturb social harmony" or offend "the feelings of the Turkish nation."

Some of their supporters actually claim to be liberals. According to their propaganda, liberalism consists of removing the headscarf ban, destroying labour unions, creating an Islamic oligarchy, and providing full freedom for any Islamic practices. They claim to be upholders of democracy against secular tyranny, which is laughable. It is just an extension of the Islamic persecution complex.

    Erdogan is a tyrant.
