    Its true.

Amnesty International is only a talking shop.

    Whereas the Pope has teeth.

    His Holiness can bite.

    Rubbish!  grin12

Amnesty stops the death sentence of criminals who IMO deserve death. Again, my opinion is subjective & most people don't think there should be any death for any offense.

Vatican indirectly causes the death of innocent people who have sex without condoms or who are unfortunate enough to marry an AIDS ridden husband\rarely AIDS ridden wife.

In terms of simply effect(ignoring the ethical side of effect) Vatican does seem to do more.  Fact. Tongue

World renowned historian Will Durant"...the Islamic conquest of India is probably the bloodiest story in history. It is a discouraging tale, for its evident moral is that civilization is a precious good, whose delicate complex order and freedom can at any moment be overthrown..."

The Vatican has given a huge contribute to literature and art.
And it helped preserve a good deal of Roman and Greek texts, in spite of censorship.

So, if we ignore the atrocities, the Vatican has probably done way more for humanity than Amnesty International. But that's mostly due to its longevity.

Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.

I'd agree with Tlaloc here. Note the stipulations about ignoring atrocities and the Church's longevity though. I'm quite sure that after Amnesty international has been around for a millennium and a half it will have done more good (and committed less atrocities).

Devious, treacherous, murderous, neanderthal, sub-human of the West. bunny

I probably should have made myself more clear.

He claimed that charity-wise (giving money to the poor and not profiteering) the Vatican has done so more than Amnesty, and that Amnesty uses it's lobbying to claim profits.
