Your 10 Commandments (can you do better than God?)...
OP - August 07, 2009, 09:48 AM

1. Live your life in a way that is as harmless to yourself and other people as much as you possibly can. Always look at your life and your actions and what harm they may bring.

2. Unless under extreme conditions - please refrain from taking from someone that which is not given or sold to you. this includes respecting somesones partner or wife/husband. Refer to commandment no 1.

3. Always be careful with the words you speak. Words and the way you speak can be a very powerful weapon. Try to always think about what your going to say before saying it - and how the words you use can hurt people for the rest of their lives.

4. Respect differences in people. Differences are always going to exist, so to create peace in the world accept difference and dont try to fight or oppress it.

5. Try to always see yourself as other people, no matter who they may be. Put yourself in their shoes as that could easily be you. This will help with commandments number 3, 2, and 1.

6. Take care of those less fortunate than you, those born with difficulties, the homeless and the aged...to help with this once again refer to commandment no 5.

7 Respect the act of sex. Sex in its main function is reproduction. This fact should always be respected and never abused. Sex is also in your nature and is very pleasurable - but refer again to commandment number one for more guidence.

8 If you make a mistake in life, try to learn from it. Everyone makes mistakes - if these mistakes have hurt you or others - dont dwell on that, but instead look to the present moment and who you can help in the here and now.

9 Use the mind i gave you. Always look to understand the world and how it has developed, seek to improve your artistic and creative mind as much as you can, do not fear learning new things all the time.

10. Try to learn about the simple interdepencence of all things in the universe - this in turn will lead you to respect the environment and see your role in it as not seperate.

11. Please love and care for you children as selflesly as you possibly can and try to show them these commandments to follow.

Those commandments are much better than anything from religion, and must be divinely inspired. Are you the True Almighty's messenger?

The sad thing is that Buddhism is a 2500 year old SE subcontinental religion, and those fools there decided to go for a 1200 year old Middle Eastern religion that does not have a single quote that is anywhere near as inspired, practical or insightful as that one.

Thou shalt not kill or bring harm unto anyone else.
Thou shalt not rape and only have consensual sex.
Thou shalt not steal, damage, or destroy things that do not belong to you.
Thou shalt not harass or abuse others.
Thou shalt tolerate other peoples beliefs.
Thou shalt not base your laws or moraltity from only one book.
Thou shalt not be a brainless sheep. Believe nothing no matter where you read it, or who said it, unless it agrees with your own reason and common sense :p
Thou shalt not be a dingleberry. Educate thyself and use your brain.

2 more that I cant think of right now.

We keep hearing about how Jack Straw or the French government have mentioned the veil and our doing so puts us in the same boat as them. How so? I want a ban on the burka, neqab and child veiling.

1)Thou shalt not intentionally kill anyone
2) Thou shalt provide help and assistance to the poor, weak and hungry before going home for dinner
3) Thou shalt do your job properly and to the standard of which you are paid, whether thou is a stripper or a bank manager
4) Thou shalt no longer be paid extortionate amounts for being a CEO while a binman goes hungry, pay in the top of society shall be capped to no more than double that of the poorest in society
5) Thou shalt shut the fuck up about thy religion in public, or in any place other than your home, place of worship or cultural center-unless the other person is clearly interested in they bullshit.
6) No lobbies shall exist in government, no law may be religion based and parliament shall be sovereign and ran by commoners, elections shall be held automatically every 6 months.
7) Thou shalt not decieve each other, except for when it is necessary to give peace to a person or aleave suffering
Thou shalt not accept useless leaders, only the most qualified and of the highest integrity shall be accepted as a candidate-the people shall decide
9) Race is biological seperation ONLY-culture and ethnicity matter-but let them not overshadow each other's humanity-all humans are born equal and should be treated equally and all have the basic human rights outlined in the UN's charter
10) Above all else, thou shalt be intellectually free, do what's best for yourself and society even if it goes against any silly rules-including these ones.

Thou shalt not speak to be heard, thou shalt not interrupt, thou shalt listen, and not just wait until it's your turn to speak . (Thought of when observing a woman's self importance )
