People who reject the theory of evolution should be placed on a level with Holocaust deniers, argues an author in his controversial new book.

    Nice link. Dawkins rocks!

It's funny: evolution is so true, yet even Obama declares himself Christian for vote banking. Seriously, his parent's where atheist, and he is one bright guy to realistically be religious. Even some Christian doubt he is one.

Probably a closet atheist to be honest.

Oh absolutely, a calculated one. The herd are not really ready for president who doesn't believe. Plus, what I like is, he says he is a Christian in such a way that he doesn't put other religions down, I suppose he's trying to get "children to play with each other nicely".

Many people who have read his "Audacity of Hope" believe that Obama is an atheist, but ofcourse a closet atheist. America had enough trouble swallowing a black man as being president...a black ATHEIST president? We're about 30-50 years off in my opinion.

I don't consider Obama a closet Atheist, I think he's just a very tolerant theist. He's one of those Christians who cherry pick the Bible, and take it metaphorically. He is a def. believer in god--specifically speaking, the Christian god. But, as I said before, he's very metaphorical in his beliefs, and is very tolerant of others beliefs and non-believers. He follows the faith through his own interpretation. I say this because of his words in the following video:

I still believe he's an atheist, one example was his immediate backpeddling of Bush's genetic engineering laws.  He had to make this video make him appear to be a Christian, as he has faced huge accusations of being a Muslim.

I think he's probably agnostic if you want to get technical about it. I certainly don't think he is a Christian or Muslim. He is an astute politician though, which means he has enough sense to realise that publicly stating what he doesn't believe would be electoral suicide in the US.

Thanks for sharing that video, I've not seen it. Good effort by Obama on his "soft war" tactic. I think it might work if it gets enough attention.

That doesn't prove he's an Atheist. It shows he's more tolerant to science than Bush, and Atheists are not the only ones' who are tolerant to science.

Well the reason why I said he's probably a very tolerant Christian rather than a non-believer is because of his words about having faith and it's importance. I doubt any Agnostic would talk about faith--they may believe in some sort of 'god' but the rejection of faith is something Atheists and Agnostics have in common. Judging from the video, I doubt Obama is an Agnostic for reasons I already stated.

I can't stand Richard Dawkins much. My brother got me "The God Delusion" for my first "Christmas" as a Muslim as a joke.

But I can't stand Creationism ten times as much. Everything about it is scripted to avoid as many problems as possible and to make it look like its pro-science when in reality it promotes a form of Godly pixie dust for everything which "can't be explained" when it already has been.

I believe in God, but I don't believe that God had such a hard time creating everything that he has to do everything continually himself. I believe evolution, genetics and other scientific laws of the Universe that helps this planet go round the sun and prevents us floating off into space was designed just like a computer program has its procedures.
