  • Need help.

Do any of you have a good strategy to study effectively? I don't want any suggestions that deals with mindlessly repeating shit over and over again like a drone. I want a scientific, proven technique that helps with maximum retention. I have an important test coming up for the NAVY in about a month and I really want to do well in it. I have great materials. I just now want a good way to program my brain to soak up the info like a sponge.

I tend to read the stuff like an essay / story and understand the concepts its talking about - not just memorize it, so I could rewrite the whole thing in my own words.

Read through it, make notes and on a separate paper write a list of questions.  Then test & retest yourself until you get 100%.  Go through past papers and expand your questions, and do the same again.

I find this is a better way of programming your brain to remember, otherwise my mind just floats and can never concentrate..
