     OP - January 08, 2010, 07:37 AM

I personally, don't mind they see my dingaling or buns in order to have a safe flight and return safely to my kids!

What do you think Muslim women and men will say about that? Will they stop traveling if it become the normal procedure in all airports?

I for one welcome our body scanning overlords - so we can now get on the plane safely Smiley

Having a look at one of the photos, that is a real incentive to get back into shape - with love handles like that, the poor person behind the screen.

looks more like he followed through!

But if somebody looks at me and does get turned on by my fifty plus body good luck to them - they are severly sick.
If it is a choice between getting blown up or to my destination safely - no contest, but here is a thought, let all those who want to keep their bodies secret be put on special planes which keep well away from major cities that way if they do get blown up they will not fal on too many heads.

I have an idea that might make us all rich.

Let's start an airline that requires all passengers and crew to be naked at ALL times.

    1) Kinky
    2) Nudists will be pleased
    3) Faster check-in!

Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.

Reminded me of a little joke I heard long time ago....

A guy with a tiny winy penis was teased by some girl who for some reason have seen it. She told him: what a loser, who would get an orgasm with this penis? He grinned, raised his eyebrows twice and said: I do!

Not sure how I feel about this, but I'm gonna err on the side of being against it. I feel the level of danger posed by terrorists does not justify this level of invasiveness. We've sacrificed enough of our liberties and privacy over the years in the name of security-- sometimes it seems it will never end.

    Agreed with Q on this.

When I was Muslim and this was floated around in the media, it upset me because I felt in good conscience, I would not be able to travel.  Just the idea of it caused me anxiety.  I have no problems with pat downs and going to women's only security checks to lift the hijab, etc.  I have done this.

There are too many potential problems that can stem from these scanners and the images that they capture, starting with the fact that TSA agents don't have the reputation for being the most discerning, educated, or professional people in the world.

I thought we also had a choice of being patted down if we didn't want to go through one of those? Considering how PC Britain is I doubt they will want to upset the muslims (not like it's a bad thing in this situation).

I got no problem with this at all. I support this sort of measure for safety.

    The full body scanners could be a slippery slope towards more invasive security measures but in our present times with all these failed airline bombings I think they are necessary with some conditions;

    a) Those who oppose being scanned for religious reasons can be pulled aside for full body pat downs, or if they are being disagreeable, then pull on a pair of latex gloves and give them a body cavity search!

    b) The people who actually do the scanning and look at the images should be specially vetted and trained.  No dumbass TSA redneck idiots, please!

Tbh I am a bit hesitant when it comes to body scanners because as Q already stated it is questionable whether the potential threat outweighs the invasion into individual’s privacy.

At least a proper code of conduct is being developed: "Those operating scanners are separated from the device, so unable to see the person to whom the image relates, and these anonymous images are deleted immediately."
