What does the "kiss" mean? Do animals kiss? Or is it a human invention?  Huh?

Kissing does not have to involve lips either. Inuits kiss by rubbing noses

Well that's not really kissing. Anyway it's probably a bit difficult to get a good snog on when it's forty below. All that saliva would freeze straight away.

Btw, the Maori also do the nose thing as a formal greeting. They call it a hongi. They still kiss for other occasions though.

I remember my late grandmother when I was a kid she used to say to me: "come here give me a nose", when she wanted to kiss me on the cheek. So I guess it also has to do with smelling someone you love. I just realized when I kiss my kids, it's their smell that I love most. Especially my 10 month baby.  yes

you're a fan of KISS? Although I saw many pictures here and there of that band but I don't remember hearing their music. If you are a fan, what is their signature song so that I can give it a listen?

I'd have to look it up. I don't remember much reo (not that I ever knew a lot anyway).

Don't get it mixed up with hangi though. That's what they used to do to their enemies.

I must not fear. Fear is the mind-killer. Fear is the little-death that brings total obliteration. I will face my fear. I will permit it to pass over me and through me. And when it has gone past I will turn the inner eye to see its path. Where the fear has gone there will be nothing. Only I remain.

It's a expression of acceptance, it depends on the intentions, you can give a friendly kiss, a loving kiss, a passionate kiss, the 'i want to have sex right now' kiss lol....It's quite a powerful form of experssion, building a sense of bonding between two people, if you didnt have kissing, hugging and hand holding etc, you'd lack depth and that additional connecting in your relationships. Part of the hand gestures and facial expressions. Being physically close also means you are showing your vunrable side, so it adds to strength of the trust bridge.
