It's odd that the Qur'an asks people to produce a sura like it and Muslims keep gloating that no-one has ever met the challenge - yet when someone does they are threatened with being taken to court?

This is religious ‘logic’ for you. Specifically muslim logic.

This is indeed an interesting point.
Did the one threatening you have anything to say on this point?

If at first you succeed...try something harder.

I didn't say that to him. I'm not going to waste time with him.

To bad the whole situation makes you feel like it's a waste of time to try and reason with him. However I know the feeling. It's not that we all have to believe or not believe the same. Just to be able to understand why some one feels and thinks a certain way just exspands our own compassion and empathy. That's just how I feel about knowing and understanding things. For all that it's worth.

Bumping this for the Arabic speakers.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'
