     Sometimes I am Cheesy . I confess.

    Because it's a choice.
In fact my problem with your post is "shouldn't"

Irrelevant if it's a choice or not, he/she shouldn't be subject to criticism, remarks and insults from a bunch of ignoramuses.

    Sometimes I am Cheesy . I confess.

I still don't get it though. Why do you care if someone chooses to dress in religious garb? Why should they be criticised for it?

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

But why would you?I didn't mention the right to criticise, I simply asked for what reason you (in this case nbhb) would.

    I wouldn't.
It was all about the idea that you shouldn't criticize someone for wearing it.

    Fair enough.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'

Because it's a choice. And you have no right, absolutely no right to ask someone not to criticize someone's choice whatever he/she decides to wear, hijab, red pants, red shoes or he/she choose.

Dead right. Someone with a lot of Twitter followers posted a pic of me in the pub in lime green trousers and garish (though exceedingly well cut) tweed jacket.

Cue a torrent* of abuse, directed at me.

(*Well, more like a trickle, but abuse is abuse and pains one to the very soul.)

Is it insensitive of me that I really want to see that pic?

Of course everyone has the right to criticise, but that does not make them any less of an arsehole.

    Missed that one lol

Naw I'm just talking about the ones who choose to wear it (and the ones forced to wear it i suppose), they shouldn't be subject to criticism and insults, no one should tell a woman what to wear, especially a man.  I am against forced hijab, of course !     : )

Talk about the devil.. Here comes the BBC news today with a video

    http://www.bbc.com/news/uk-england-33790133?SThisFB

    Quote
Fears over Islamophobic hate crimes in London

With fears growing that Islamophobic hate crimes are on the rise, BBC religious affairs correspondent Caroline Wyatt exposes the reality of daily life for some women living behind the veil.
Muslim women speak out about the physical and verbal attacks they have been subjected to in London. Some say they feel they are being hounded out of their homes and neighbourhoods.
Fiyaz Mughal from Tell MAMA, a victim support group, told Inside Out women are the most vulnerable to attacks and abuse, especially those who wear a face veil.

that is what Fiyaz Mughal    says., I say to Fiyaz Mughal ..  Go on the london roads with Niqab ..  Some 50 guys with beards and mustaches should put on niqabs  and walk n london roads..  Get that guy Anjum Choudary and his goons in to that male niqab group..

I did not say that people haven't got a right to criticize. No matter in poor taste or not.
What I DID say was that you should not insist that women should wear whatever they want and then criticize them for exercising that freedom. IN THE SAME BREATH.
Because it is contradictory and confusing. It does not say "I support a woman's right to wear what she wants" when you really are insisting she choose from your menu, only. I think we got enough of that from the muttawa.
