  • Hi from London!
     OP - March 21, 2011, 03:00 AM

Hi everyone!! I posted earlier in the lounge appealing for help for my research (to no avail) and at the suggestion of the lovely people in the chat room, I thought it might be more appropriate to introduce myself here first Smiley

I currently live in London and I was born to a very mixed family in terms of religion. I have been all but indifferent to religion all my life seeing everyone around me worship different Gods (or none) and doing all kinds of things quite incomprehensive at times about it. It was only in uni that I was surrounded by people who seemed to know what they are doing with their faiths/atheism/agnosticism and cared to explain to me and answer my questions. It got me into seeking, researching and asking questions in the realm of religion. This is what inspired my research project - to see if higher education has had this eye opening and critical influence on other people as well (or if something else has, and what could be done to help young people to make that choice for one or no religion or another for themselves) - and this was what brought me here.

It would be great if any British ladies could help me out - I don't need to know you beyond virtually. And it will be great if this happens before the end of April, when I should start to panic about my exams...But even if not, it's been lovely reading all your stories and thoughts, joining the action in the chat room and discovering here and getting to know you all  Smiley

P.S. Sorry about the terribly long introduction...I seem to have got this baaaad habit in academia to say things more elaborately than I absolutely need to  Huh?

I'm neither british nor a lady so I can't say anything more than:  signwelcome

I'm open for debate (of why we should re-/embrace Islam), but I will no longer participate in this forum. Message me if you need anything. Good luck and may you all find your way... again...
