I am a center-left atheist-agnostic gal. I joined at the rec of a facebook friend. I don't like rightwing xenophobic bashing of Muslims, but I also really despise liberal apologists who will excuse heinous acts of fundamentalists and "moderate" Muslims.

Welcome! So are you an Ex-Muslim ? (we have some Ex-other faiths too here) & what about Allah's religion caused to you join the dark side ?

I am not an ex-Muslim. My family is Hindu but I've never had firm faith from the get-go and a lot of the misogyny, casteism, bigotry, etc within Hinduism really convinced me that all of this was utterly manmade crap. Over the years, I've come to realize that it is foolish to believe in sky pixies.
