Sura 111 Rewriting (in my poetry) and commentary.

Homage to all Buddhas and Bodhisattvas
Who existed and exist and shall exist.
The following is a rewriting of Sura 111 in octosyllabic lines. Sura 111 is beautiful: concise, to the point, and (probably inadvertantly), disgustingly violent. How can one who reads the sura, obviously intended for a specific individual, can continue to hold the Qu'ran to be timeless in its wisdom is beyond me. But many things are. Huh? wacko lipsrsealed
LAHAB‘S FATHER WILL PERISH.
HIS WEALTH SHALL NOT AVAIL HIM
AS HE BURNS IN GOD‘S FIRE.
AND HIS WIFE, THE WOOD CARRIER,
WILL HAVE A PALM-FIBRE HALTER
KNOTTED AROUND HER STRAIGHT, STRONG NECK.
Even if I were to live for kalpa kalpas as my current self,
Still I would not understand why folks often behave as they behave.
Words Spoken by a Theravada Bhikkhuni on Mars to a Redbeardian Warlord Possessing Much Wealth
MOST SAY SHIPS, SOME SAY HORSES, FEW SAY WOMEN
ARE WHAT I DESIRE MOST IN ALL THE WORLD.
HOW THESE PEOPLE ARE MISGUIDED IN THEIR THOUGHTS!
FOR ENLIGHTENMENT MAKES ALL SEEM TRIVIAL.
