     OP - September 11, 2011, 11:47 PM

Just got invited to this event entitled "Islam or Humanism: Which One Makes More Sense?" held by "The BIG Debates" who describe themselves as "an independent platform that seeks to build a bridge of understanding and discussion between Western and Islamic thinkers." They are in fact a front group for iERA, but anyhoo, the link is below. Does anyone fancy coming along? Accommodation for the night in London is available.

EDIT: Oooops. This is on Tuesday not Wednesday!

Islam or Humanism?  They have the audacity to ask such a question?!?!

I already knew about this event btw, but I don't think I'll be going.

    Why not have another debate:

INB4 Humanists have no objective morality

So once again I'm left with the classic Irish man's dilemma, do I eat the potato or do I let it ferment so I can drink it later?

Just to tick off Hamza Richard should thank William Lane Craig for coming to the debate, and refer to Hamza as WLC every chance he can get.

reminds me of all the random " I humbly ask" or " we humbly proclaim"'s in iERA's adventure at the humanist conference.

why do humanists/secularists stoop so low to share a platform with people who believe in a celestial invisible david copperfield? Would they share a public billing with individuals who believe that dragons or santa claus are real?

Your question reeks of anti-faith bigotry, the nihilism of atheism, and the positivist arrogance of those who think only those things that are visible by eye are worth knowing blah blah blah

I do wonder if Richard Norman is aware of what he's getting himself into with this bunch. I did try to find some contact details for him but couldn't. Anyway, I'm heading back from Cambridge early to satisfy my morbid curiosity as to the behaviour of the audience as much as anything else. I take it this one will just be me and my Muslim buddy...the CEMB keyboard crew disappoint me again!

faith is intellectually feeble, so no intellectuals or academic should be holding public events with faithists....and yes im not interested in analagies, anecdotes etc.

Reminds me of that Tony Blaire vs. Hitchens debate. God that was unbearable! But I'm noticing that its getting harder for those dawahtards to get away with it. One can only hope.
