     OP - January 16, 2012, 04:11 AM

I know there are a lot of people on the forums who have depressive tendencies, and I have counted myself among them. However, I'm now sooo over harboring all of the negativity I've been carrying for a while now. From now on I've decided to make a concerted effort to frame all the happenings in my life in a positive manner.

Just decided to post this topic because I think that developing this kind of mindset through positive framing can have a positive influence in one's life. I've also found positivity to be a highly infectious thing, so I'm trying to spread it.  yes

I hope that others find positive thinking to be something that suits them, and if not please offer your own feedback.  Smiley

Did you steal my positivity? -_- I'm in doom'n'gloom mode atm, so I'll stay out of this thread for now. Grin

More important than being positive, I think, is to be open to whatever you are feeling. Don't deny negative feelings, accept them and try to learn from them. Similarly, don't force yourself to be positive, because then you'll just become anxious about being positive all the time and that's hardly a better place to be.
Feeling negative doesn't have to be a bad thing until you make it one. We all feel negative, we have bad days, do things we aren't proud of, but the key, in my humble opinion, is to realize that it's just one strand of the vast spectrum of experience and that if you let yourself relax and not worry about how you are feeling then you may just be able to experience some other strands too.

    Ambiguous undulations as they sink,
Downward to darkness, on extended wings. - Stevens
