Ah, Jumuah magazine! My old friend. I used to have a subscription to it. It was mostly well written and professionally done, and also, since it was American, it was far more rational and moderate than most UK Islamic magazines.

Moving on, most philosophies advocate a form of meditation/self-reflection, Islam is a huge spectrum of philosophies and traditions, and unsurprisingly we find this in Islam too. I don't know what sort of comment you're looking for? Are you trying to say that Islam can have rationality in it? This is a given I would have thought.

I do have to say though, self-reflection in itself isn't necessary useful, it's not an end but a means to an end. If you are self-reflecting on how best to murder people and how efficient you are at the act then it doesn't make you rational.

thanks sprout, I used to "muhasabah" just want to clarify and understand what's it's meant for me and what it meant if you do "muhasabah" about god existence in Islam, did it do more good or harm?

anyway, any comments are much appreciated.
