  • Mohamed Last Sermon

Well this took me by surprise.

Is the prophet's last sermon not authentic?

"All mankind is from Adam and Eve, an Arab has no superiority over a non-Arab nor a non-Arab has any superiority over an Arab; also a white has no superiority over black nor a black has any superiority over white except by piety and good action. "
    http://www.islamicity.com/articles/Articles.asp?ref=IC0107-322

It's not in the hadith or anything...  How on Earth did I not even realize this before.  I guess I just figured Muslims who spend their life seeking out God's word in Hadith and Koran not just attribute this.

Am I missing something or is this really just a made up speech?

Now many websites say its origin is from an Indian/Pakistani who first published it.
Which I guess begs the question... if this sermon is just common in the indo-pakistani culture of Islam?

If you're an Arab here, is this sermon something common you've heard in your life?
Or if you're an older person... do you remember this... or is this just something modern?

Really where did you read that  "origin of that last sermon is from  an Indian/Pakistani who first published it"  scamper_22?   I thought it is from London Finsbury Park

Fraudulent Translation of Muhammad's 'Last Sermon' to Make It Egalitarian

Hasn't there been a thread on this already?

It kind of proves that inventing stuff that Mohammad said is OK as long as its for making dawah.
