  • Anyone fancy debating Muslims at a neutral admin forum?
     OP - July 16, 2012, 02:22 PM

If anyone is interested in debating on religion, a good place to do it is Historum, which is the biggest English language forum about history.

There is a whole section of the forum dedicated to Religion, and as one would expect, most of the threads in that section are about Islam.

Most of the members of the forum are Atheists, but there are quite a few, very vocal, Muslims there too. They range from Quran only moderates to full on conspiracy theory, Jew hating nutters.

The mods on the forum are very neutral and do not censure debates as long as they are not provocative or insulting.

I know that a lot of people here have no interest in these kinds of debates, but in case you do, this is a good medium because debates with Muslims on actual Islamic forums are usually censured and they will often try to find any excuse for banning you. The history forum on the other hand is far more neutral.

By the way, do not think you need to be a history buff to participate as most members on there don't actually know much about history anyway.

There are two interesting sub forums relavent to Islam:

    Religion Sub-Forum

Middle Eastern and African History Sub-Forum

Thanks, I might check it out. It looks pretty active, am usually not suited to really big forums, takes too long to get to know everyone.

It is a large forum. But it covers a wide range of topics. The religion sub-forum tends to be mainly the same 20 or so users whose names keep popping back up.

By the way Tut, I did end up joining the Islamic board that you posted about and I posted an intro thread there. I have been meaning to go back there and chime in on your discussion, the thing is those guys you are debating with do not seem to understand your arguments and do not really follow a logical argument. They seem to just copy and paste whole articles that are not very relevant and they themselves probably do not even understand. So I did not think there was much point in participating in that particular discussion. But if I have time I might try to post something.

Yeah, that's why I gave up on that forum, It doesn't interest me anymore. They stonewalled me with copy and pastes of articles which had nothing to do with, what I was talking about. The responses at best were childish.

King Tut  mylord..  PUT ON SOME WEIGHT and put on a thinking Cap.. What is the goals of yours  and reason to join an Islamic forum like that  one??

In those forum you are supposed be a Muslim and asking question to get answers on the subject of Islam that you don't understand.. If you go there to antagonize them, then you are a failure and you will be failed.

Do not let silence become your legacy.. Question everything
I renounced my faith to become a kafir,
the beloved betrayed me and turned in to  a Muslim
