Farid has just posted this video and I thought it was so funny and actually proves my point exactly. So for those who have not seen it here it it...

I showed it to my kids and they loved it. My 7 years old son said, he was eating something and it turned out to be very spicy hot... LOL

Actually he was putting something in his mouth, or removing something if look closer.

His fingers were between his lips.... I think.

Anyways, it doesn't matter, he was fake. We had fun watching it.

My wife is suggesting that he could have been payed to do that by the TV station. Just like fake laughs in a comedy studio or a funny play where people are payed to come and laugh loudly to jump start a laughter wave!!

However, I think he is just a lone faker! Cheesy

I certainly hope that kid grows up and becomes completely non-religious atheist. He will probably look back and feel embarrassed at being used by his parents and the clergy for such mindless nonsense.

Why Islam is one big show off event-

If Allah wanted He could have made all of you a single nation. But He willed otherwise in order to test you in what
He has given you; therefore try to excel one another in good deeds. Ultimately you all shall return to Allah; then He will show you the truth of those matters in which you dispute

I only fast in weekends so I am fasting right now. However I thought a realy important teaching in Islam was modesty so I don not understand why those Imams and other religious figures will always show off how long their beard is or preach to others the etiquette of Islam when they barely able to look at their own faults. Personally I think long beards are unhygienic but there you go.

Regarding long beards, I'm quite sure Mohammed encouraged that practice. It's part of the sunna which is unfortunate as beards are hideous, especially long ones. And I agree with you that they are unhygienic. As for why they show off, Allah says to excel one another so that is all they are doing.

The beard is in keeping with the sunnah of the prophet. Excelling in good works means immitating the prophet. According to the muslims, the sunnah is the best example to follow.

Not to mention that for their poor wives, kissing their bearded hubbies must be like going down on a hairy vag!  piggy

The other very show-offy thing that many Muslim men do is wearing their trousers at mid-calf length.  I know that there is a hadith about pompous people who wear long robes which will drag in the fires of hell but I guess they never take into account that maybe there are some women out their with a calf and ankle fetish who could be perving on these oh, so pious Muslims' bare shins.

    Atheism is a non-prophet organization.

See, to me this seems like a kind of idolatry... of the Prophet rather than Allah.

what bugs me is, Muslims are asked to imitate prophet in every aspect of life, and when there is something weird that he did and doesnot fit our time they say , " oh well, its one of his characteristics as a prophet " !
someone said that about marrying a child, and about sleeping then praying without ablution , or marrying more than 4 women ..

Yep, because they start with the premise that Mo is a prophet, so he has certain dispensations that we mere mortals don't.

Is wearing tight jeans, an armless top and lots of make up with a colourful hijab showing off?

Take the Pakman challenge and convince me there is a God and Mo was not a murdering, power hungry sex maniac.

That's simply ridiculing something which is supposed to be taken seriously by the women. It's just become a fashion statement for them.

Of course religions don't show off. Perish the thought.

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'
