they think that gravity is explained by the fact that the earth is constantly moving upwards, presumably at a variable speed which somehow allows it to account for the fact that an object gains speed as it falls

How do they explain shipping routes? Sat Nav? Google Earth? Travel distances consistent with a globe shape? Why is Earth's shadow upon the moon round during an eclipse? Why is Earth the only planet that is flat? Why are star constellations upside down in the Land of Oz and the correct way up in Great England?

These people must be pretty deaf and blind to not notice the pictures from outer space, or Google earth or even why telecommunication towers have to be placed in so many areas since if the earth was flat we'd need far less of them.

I wouldn't be surprised if these are the exact kind of people who refute Neil Armstrong ever landing on the moon.
