In summary, the modern standardised Qurʾān is the 1936 revision of the 1924 Cairo Edition derived from the four recorded variations of the Ḥafṣ Qurʾānic tradition, which in turn is one of the two main variations of the ʿĀṣim Qurʾānic tradition, which in turn is one of the three main variations of the Kūfī version of the ʿUthmānī Qurʾānic tradition, which in turn is one of the many Qurʾānic collections that arose in the decades following the death of Muḥammad.

Put more succinctly, the modern standardised Qurʾān is a revision (1936) of a revision (1924) of a variant (Ḥafṣ) of a variant (ʿĀṣim) of a version (Kūfī) of a version (ʿUthmānī) of the original Qurʾān.

Reading the comments on fb is depressing, ignorance is only bliss for the ignorant, for those of us watching it, it's far from blissful.  Grin

I would not say that. the mere fact that Muslims are going to the Orientalist facebook page in the first place shows that this stuff is not being ignored.

At any rate, some of the comments made by Muslims I tend to agree with. The diagram itself is NOT proof that major, significant changes occurred to the actual text of the Quran. It would be better to actually show an actual sentence example that shows a change in the meaning of a verse from two different surviving versions. As one Muslim commenter said "where is the proof"?

The only really annoying thing is when the Muslim commenters start accusing Klingshor of hating Muslims. If all else fails call him a racist.  Cheesy This is why more ex-Muslims need to speak up and support this kind of skeptical research on Islamic origins on the internet.

The facebook user "Abdurrahman Al-mulhim" wrote some comments supporting Klingschor, and none of the Muslims responded to his comments, the reason is obviously because, since he has a Muslim name, their biggest weapon, crying racism and "hate" is totally nullified, and without that, they really have nothing to say.

Hello, if anyone has actually read his article about the preservation of the Qur'aan, can they try answering my question? :/
I posted a thread on the same section.
