Happy endings...

I haven't posted for a while, just been lurking, but it seems that there doesn't seem to be a thread about all the positives that come from peoples struggles (with life, family, etc.)

I think a thread where people could document positive accomplishments would be nice, it would give people something to hope for.

I understand that this is a very personal topic, but I do feel its important not to just focus on the negatives of the situation you are in. For example I told my parents about my non-muslim S.O and hinted about my lack of belief in Islam. At first they took it well (which was positive) but now it's gone the other way. I'm hoping that they will meet my S.O (again positive), but I know its a long hard path and I'm either going to lose my S.O because of religion, or I am going to lose my family because of religion. I'm not looking for a compromise, I know there won't be a compromise that everyone will be happy with, but I'm not going to let myself be bullied. I want to find my happiness (positive).

I guess I also need a happy story to give me faith that a happy ending might just be possible!
