So everyone *(restrictions may apply) will receive their fair amount of inheritance

    *(no kuffars or 'bastards')

I am better than your god......and so are you.

    ^ Thanks Smiley

Oh, so the Law Society has been circulating a missive containing guidelines for solicitors on how to write up shari'ah compliant wills. Why is such a thing even necessary? Surely, a Muslim could elect to have their will written however they wanted it anyway, so if they wanted to follow shari'ah they could just state 2x for sons, x for daughters, not mention any illegitimate kids and so on, following shari'ah inheritance rules without any questions asked. This is a bit of a facepalm moment for the Law Society. It's a totally unnecessary endorsement of a discriminatory set of guidelines. I guess this is what they call "cultural sensitivity" in some circles Roll Eyes

Many Muslims around me are quite liberal. They are against war against non-Muslims. But if you ask them to give equal shares to their children they simply WON'T. That's because we have been fed on the crap that women inherit some properties and wealth from their husbands so all is well. If this is the attitude of the liberals then there is no hope in sharia law. Forget about inheritance. Legalisation of khula and other injustices against women will be legalised, so only giving equal share is not the solution. What if your lawyer doesn't allow you to give your daughter equal share? Muslims are overzealous. What if the brother sues his father for breaking the sharia law if the latter gives his children equal share? I say sharia law should be totally abolished from the country.

`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'

    Well I feel foolish.
