So, I found out my grandmother's a whore who slept with many men during her prime (not because of love, but because they were powerful men and she manipulated them). She's really religious now. Additionally,  my uncle has an affair with a married woman and has an illegitimate kid from her; this woman has two kids from her husband, mind you. My step-grandfather has went on to have sex with this woman as well, according to some sources.

     wacko

I've stopped talking to them because they have no morals, although they're 'Muslims'. I'm an agnostic leaning on atheist and I'm more ethically-conscious than them. They're disgusting. I find nothing wrong with sex, but these people are just sexually perverted. And they come from a Muslim society (Afghanistan). They still live there by the way. People assume Afghans are religious and whatnot, but many of them (most, actually) are hidden perverts, and the men use religion as a tool to control women and hold power. (However, my grandmother clearly did not get subjugated. She married three times—or four, I don't remember. She's a psychopath and she abused my mother because my mom was from her first husband).

Anyway, I think the most hypocritical people are religious. And people in Islamic countries actually have pretty messed up secrets hidden under their carpet.

What do you think of the hypocrisy in Islamic nations? I for one know that 'avoiding fornication' is barely adhered to (especially by the men) in these countries. I hate the double-standard these people live by. I avoid talking to most Muslims these days because the ones that are liberal are delusional and in denial, and the hard-core Muslims, well... you all know how they are.

Anyway, I'm back! I was here for a while but then I left because I got busy with life and whatnot. Gratefully, I don't have to pretend to be Muslim most of the time because my mother left Islam as well after I left the religion. However, I used to go to an Islamic school for a few years (out of my own choice) and it was absolute psychological torture so I left. Also, I had to deal with a few relatives for most of my childhood and they were religious fundamentalists. We don't talk to them anymore. Thank God.  grin12

Only two things are infinite, the universe and human stupidity, and I'm not sure about the former.~Albert Einstein

Good people do not need laws to tell them to act responsibly, while bad people will find a way around the laws. ~Plato

I am glad your mother left, too. That is a relief for you! My favorite old Farsi movie is the one where at the end, the neighborhood bully is trying to shame a woman out of the neighborhood because she was a dancer before her marriage, and his old mother comes up to him and slaps him and says something like "I suppose you want me out, too? What do you think I was doing before I met your father?"

But good on you for setting boundaries where you need them.
