Heh. I've heard about this line of reasoning too. What's funny about this is that why did muhammad have to have sex with her if it's just about teaching her hadith. This is one of the most funniest arguments muslims ever made up to defend muhammad effing a 9 year old.

I guess the second part of this sentence is a bit hard to understand for non-Muslims (or not so informed Muslims such as me )

I think what he meant was thay muslims try to defend muhammad's marriage to young aisha by saying that muhammad needed a young person to teach islam to because young people retain information better, then the said student could be used as a reference by muslims. But he could've done that with any kid, case in point the 10 yo slave boy. Thus he didn't need to have sex with any child to teach him or her about islam.
