The show is very popular over here in the US. I think part of the appeal is that it is not common to see middle aged, middle class men acting naughty and silly on tv. So a lot of American middle class middle aged men can identify with it.
Some of the episodes were pretty damn funny. The one when they did a tour of the American South and they had to drive around Mississippi with "Nascar sucks", "Gay love rules", "Country Music is rubbish" written on their cars. Some rednecks chased them down and starting throwing rocks at them.
