Hello everyone I have been surfing thorough the forums without an account and now I feel eager to contribute so for the sake of prefatory etiquette , I'm going to start here
I was born and raised in London. I was brought up in a liberal Egyptian Muslim family.
I became a closeted agnostic in 2009 because I have basic doubts directly from my intuition about the 'miraculous nature of the Quran' and the accounts of Prophet Muhammad. I was very naïve so I felt I needed to research strenuously about Islam and I have been doing that since. I think that reinforced my position as an agnostic and sometimes I hover over atheism but I never seem to anchor in that area.
The only reason I'm staying as a closeted agnostic is because I have yet to attain circumstances where I feel comfortable about opening up. The thought of tidings about my renunciation reaching my uncle who does dawah, my Arabic tutor who is an imam, my brother in law and my mother being pious believers, perturbs me.
Currently, I’m a student studying for a computer science degree and I enjoy reading, writing, bodybuilding, watching and playing football.
I look forward to having interesting discussions with people in the forum
