Not all news from the world of UK student politics is bad.

Interfaithless aims to give a platform to apostates from all faiths, and its first enemies are going to be those SU execs where the criticism of Islam will be wilfully misread as the hatred of Muslims. If you live in the UK and are a student, these guys deserve your support.

can't seem to find a link to an  Interfaithless website. YOu have one?   oh,and what is SU?

According to the polls only 1.6 % of Americans are athiests. So what gives you the right to call the other 80% morons?'

I hope they won't be deliberately, childishly, antagonistic. It should be enough to support each other and politely use arguments from history, science and morality to make their views heard, if necessary.

Take the moral high ground. Then they have authority on their side when the inevitable shit starts.

Well, given the people who are behind it (you see some of them in the video), I highly doubt that they'll play it antagonistically, childish or otherwise.

Does anyone know who the slightly older woman in the video is , the one who talks about her punk hijab tendencies of old?

I know that I've seen her somewhere before (possibly in person), just can't remember where.

My mind runs, I can never catch it even if I get a head start.

It's cool that they are doing the first event at QM, I wonder how many (if any) of the dawah boys will be attending.
I was in the area a few days ago and there was a dawah stall right outside the library :<

A sacred text and a great work of literature, but also a manual of guidance – the Qur’an teaches how to live a family life, how to marry, whom to marry, what to eat and how to do business. It outlines the rights of the people: women and children and parents, husbands, wives and neighbours. It tells governors how to rule in war and in peace. It discusses heaven, hell and the last days of mankind, and covers almost all branches of science, addressing the great questions of life such as evolution, the purpose of creation, life after death – and much more.

    Why is Popbitch doing this?

ROb you understand that by their very existence they are going to be antagonistic?
They will have the temerity to demand that their being is as valid as anyone else's. How very dare they!

Incidentally, if anyone here thinks they'd like to help with a future interfaithless event, or can think of a university it can be held at (it works best when its a collaboration with the atheist or feminist societies, I'm told) - get in touch with Imtiaz (community@interfaithless.com). Its starting in the UK, but there are plans to have these types of events globally (and not just for ex-muslims). Exciting times ahead!

^ Sadly I got your name wrong. However I still want an encore!

`But I don't want to go among mad people,' Alice remarked.
`Oh, you can't help that,' said the Cat: `we're all mad here. I'm mad.  You're mad.'
`How do you know I'm mad?' said Alice.
`You must be,' said the Cat, `or you wouldn't have come here.'
