  • One of my (many) reasons for leaving Islam...
     OP - July 10, 2016, 03:19 PM

Before I explain this, let me say that I'll never tell my parents I'm an Ex-Muslim. My mother, specifically, holds on to the belief that she is guaranteed heaven because she raised good Muslim kids, and I don't want to mess with her fantasy. She's over 70 now, and I'd rather keep her happy.

But, to be perfectly honest, one of my first steps to becoming an Ex-Muslim was down to her. When I was 7, she encouraged me to read a science encyclopaedia before learning to pray.

She was thinking of my future career, of course, but learning about the age of the planet, the shape of the solar system and the universe, and, of course, evolution before I got to trying to understand the Quran, pretty much sealed my fate 001_tongue

The very powerful and the very stupid have one thing in common. They don't alter their views to fit the facts. They alter the facts to fit their views. Which can be uncomfortable if you're one of the facts that needs altering

please take care of her and keep her happy ., afterall she is your Mom and  she helped you to understand Islam and for that matter about faiths by makig you  read  Science subjects.

Go..... make her cup of coffee and take her for dinner

One  need not trouble our loving folks with the problems that we have with these stupid faiths..   there are 100s of millions of harmless Muslim  folks around the globe .. if they have ingrained Islamic faith in them .. So what?  well they need faith.....  as long as that faith doesn't make rules for others   and they live their life with in the premises of GOLDEN RULE.,  we should  let them  live and die happily with their faith .,  I am glad to read you envixer

    with best wishes
    yeezevee

Do not let silence become your legacy.. Question everything
I renounced my faith to become a kafir,
the beloved betrayed me and turned in to  a Muslim

And yeah, she just had an operation, so I'm spending time with her and dad, helping out as much as possible  Smiley
