  • Is hatred for Allah compatible with Islam?
     OP - April 15, 2009, 09:30 PM

I was wondering today if Islam requires Muslims to love Allah or to avoid hating Him at all.

Because, I was imagining, it is perfectly possible to believe in One God and His Messenger, and worship him in order to "kiss his omnipotent ass" to get rewarded, and be scared of the fact that he might send you to hell on a whim... all while hating him, like you would hate an arrogant bossy employer that abuses you left and right.

So, what are the arguments against this thesis?

Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.

I remember reading somewhere that if you love anything more than Allah, Allah will be upset, and deprive you of it.

    Islam: where idiots meet terrorists.
