anybody else here notice the rediculous amount of articles, news reports and studies that seem to make a big deal of making really obvious connections? Do you really need to appoint a team of scientists and psychologists to determine that being lonely makes you more prone to depression? Are we really wasting money on reseach that could be used for something a little more useful? whats behind this insanity?

I've noticed this too, it's really pissing me off. I remember one article which said drinking more alcohol makes you more likely to be an alcoholic You don't say!

Yeah, says it all huh? Some of the things people do studies on are really idiotic.
