Any suggestions on how to handle my father are very welcome.

You could try starting with the science.  If your father's objections to evolution  are as ill-thought out as "why are there still apes?"  I doubt he would be that difficult to debate.  IsLame and mighty cats have both made You Tubes on the subject, you'll find the links to them in their sigs.

Oh, and welcome.  Did anybody give you a parrot yet?

Haha, I even had 2 parrots already! Thanks for the offer though.

I can't debate with science. Those questions about the apes he used to ask were at the age of 14-15. Now that I have a better understanding of Evolution I tried explaining it to him, but he still won't listen.
You have to understand that my father is an awfully stubborn man. When referring to the miracles of the Quran, I reply that it's not real science, it's vague pseudo-science. Also, they are post-hoc proofs, you can fit anything you want in those verses. (The miracle about the speed of light on youtube cracks me up every time)

To illustrate how badly he believes in the Quran: when I asked him how it's possible that is we came from Adam and Eve, that there are blacks, Asians, Caucasians, ...
His response was that Eve had 40 uteruses.
    I wish I was joking..

Thanks - I enjoyed reading your story, I hope you enjoy your stay here.  When did you finally admit to yourself you were an exmuslim -  Have you told any other Muslims yet?

sounds like my father , except my father is really smart but he denies the truth

And how does having 40 uteruses give her the ability to have children of different races?   Huh?

No, wait don't answer that.  The stupid, it hurts.  If he's really that stubborn,  maybe you should just refuse to discuss religion  with him until he's willing to listen to your pov.

The Muslims that know about this are the ex muslim mentioned in my story and 2 of my quite religious nieces. One of them doesn't accept it and spams me constantly with "you will burn in hell". The other is a bit older and more understanding. She understands my doubt, but whenever she has the opportunity, she will try to prove once again the truth about Islam. Her last attempt was the conversion of Cat Stevens and Neil Armstrong (of which the latter turned out to be fake) and of course, the miracles of the quran, instant classic.

I admitted it to myself right after the thought that Muhammad was not a messenger of God, which happened about 4 months ago.

@Cheetah: I try to talk as less as possible with him. The fact that during the week I'm staying in my dorm in the city where I study helps. But the longterm problems remain; for example I have a girlfriend of 3 years now, which he knows of. He assumes I'm going to raise my children Muslim, and that she also will convert to Islam. But obviously I don't want that. This is really a major issue, and I graduate in 2 years so time is getting short...
