Just how much mass media, pop culture, mindless smut and 'entertainment' affects our thinking and keeping our eyes away from deeper, more graver issues.

Pakistan Zindabad? ya Pakistan sey Zinda bhaag?

Long Live Pakistan? Or run with your lives from Pakistan?

Well, Orwell's vision was appropriate for Communist and fascist societies, which is what he had in mind when writing 1984, but it's pretty clear to me that Huxley's vision is much more compatible with liberal capitalist societies, and thus much more relevant to the times we are living in. Not that I think all components of his dystopian vision are in our future, nor even necessarily most of them, but some of the methods of social control (e.g. Soma) and social structure do seem very plausible in today's world.

    fuck you

I'd rather live in Huxley's Brave New World than in Orwell's 1984.

    No way man!

Brave New World pumped full of soma?

Its nuts. At least in 1984 you could spot the baddy quite easily. If I was in Huxley's bookI'dbe s drugged up I wouldn't give a fuck.

No war, no crime, no diseases, free sex and most people are happy most of the time.
