    i always ignore "scientific news"

if something is sensational, it's rarely scientific
    why?
because if it has the "omg WOW" effect on people it means it has not been carefully explored and analyzed YET

Do not look directly at the operational end of the device.

I like that article though, the media hype about Ida irritated me at the time.  In fact, I always cringe every time the media report the latest fossil find as a "missing link"   Roll Eyes

Scientific news are fine if published in a peer reviewed journals, like Nature or Science. I never pay much attention to very recent news reports. They usually rush reports for exclusive gains and competitions.

Exactly.  Plus, a lot of journalists reporting on science don't know the first thing about it, hence the nonsense about missing links.

Before they label anything else as being the missing link, perhaps they should look at themselves as possible contenders for the title

Cheesy actually, I often joke about it even with my hardcore Muslim friends. When ever we encounter an asshole or a stupid person who gets on our nerves, I would say look... Isn't that enough evidence that Darwin was right? They would giggle and nod in agreement.
